When you join a Next Gen Writers session, expect more than just writing—it’s a chance to connect, create, and be inspired.
Make Friends
We kick off with icebreakers and group activities, making sure everyone feels comfortable and gets to know each other. These fun moments help build friendships and get those creative juices flowing!
Publishing is the purpose
Throughout the session, our focus is on publication, not perfection. You’ll receive professional-level guidance on editing and refining your work, all aimed at helping you prepare for something special—seeing your writing published in our very own club book, available on Amazon.
Inspirational starters
Looking for inspiration? From brain games to imaginative prompts, we’ll spark ideas you never knew you had. Sometimes it’s hard to get started, and these ideas get you fired up quickly, so you can concentrate on getting something down on paper.
Mutual respect
The core principles included in our behaviour policy and supported by the club values mean that all writers will receive respect, support and validation. We are all growing. None of us are experts so the journey is the most important thing.
Learn skills
Hints, tips and wisdom designed to sharpen your writing skills. But don’t worry—this isn’t school. There are no boring exercises or dreaded red pens. Instead, you’ll explore tips and tricks that real authors use, all in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Practical resources
Writing materials will be available at every session, but members are encouraged to bring their own if they prefer.
Tablets and laptops are also welcome and encouraged. Just make sure they are well charged!
