Behaviour Policy

At Next Gen Writers, our goal is to create a space where every young writer can thrive. Together, we aim to:

  • Write creatively and as much as possible.
  • Learn and grow as writers.
  • Express ourselves and our personalities without judgment.
  • Share our work and support each other with kindness and encouragement.
  • Build connections, make friends, and have fun.
  • Celebrate our achievements with professional publication.

To achieve these goals, we have a set of standards that help us create a positive and supportive environment:

  1. We respect each other in our words, actions, and attitudes. Everyone’s ideas and contributions matter.
  2. We encourage each other. Celebrate each other’s efforts and successes.
  3. We stay focused and engaged. Make the most of our time together by being ready to participate.
  4. We keep our language positive and respectful. Swearing or hurtful comments are not allowed.
  5. We take care of the space and resources we use. Treat the venue and materials responsibly.
  6. We listen and take turns. Respect everyone’s opportunity to share and be heard.
  7. We approach challenges with a positive attitude. Writing isn’t always easy, but we grow by trying and supporting each other.

Agreement
By agreeing to this policy, you commit to upholding these standards. If these expectations are not met, you may be asked to leave the group.

In such a situation:

  • Fees for booked classes paid in advance will not be refunded.
  • The publication of your written work may not go ahead, though this will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

This policy must be agreed to by both the participant and their parent or guardian. Parents can do this by ticking the box on the booking form. Children will be asked to sign their agreement on their first visit to the workshop.

Let’s work together to make this a fantastic experience for everyone!
